Ronquieres Inclined Plane is in the Province of Hainaut (Henegouwen, Hennegau) on the Charleroi to Bruxelles canal. 

It was constructed between 1962 and 1968 and raises boats 68 metres up the sloping lock. 

Magnificent panoramic views from the top of the 150m tower give views to the Atomium in Bruxelles on a clear day. 

There is a visitor centre on site showing the life of the canalboat people.
