Paris and the Ile de France Region, France

Paris and the Ile de France consists of 8 Departments, 75 Paris, 77 Seine et Marne, 78 Yvelines, 91 Essonne, 92 Hauts de Seine, 93 Seine St Denis, 94 Val de Marne and 95 Val d'Oise. The Department 75 Paris is split into 20 Arrondissements. 

Surrounded by the Ile de France, Paris has such a richness of Museums, Art Galleries, Cathedrals, Monuments and other famous buildings. Like any major city, it is not really suitable for touring by motorhome but a stopover at a campsite in the Ile de France and a coach or train excursion would be ideal. 

The Ile de France has benefited from being close to Paris by being the first to benefit from the extension of the King's power and as a result there are numerous Chateaux, Cathedrals and Churches in a largely unspoiled region. 

Euro Disney (and nearby Asterix Park in Picardie) symbolise a more modern type of construction and entertainment, but against a back cloth of such places as the Palace of Versailles and the Chateaux at Fontainebleu and Rambouillet one can but wonder what such places will look like in 200-300 years. 

NB.
There are currently 5 Departments in Paris and the Ile de France where we have not taken pictures. They are:
78 Yvelines, 91 Essonne, 92 Hauts de Seine, 93 Seine St Denis and 94 Val de Marne. 
Consequently these Departments are not included in the displayed selection list on the left.
